On this day in 1963, ‘Son of Flubber’ was released. The sequel to 1961’s ‘The Absent-Minded Professor,’ the film saw Fred MacMurray returning as Professor Ned Brainard. The professor’s creation “Flubber,” or flying rubber, hasn’t brought the success and wealth he anticipated. His new creation, “Flubbergas,” which can levitate objects, may be just the thing! Although Walt Disney disliked sequels, the film was made because there were unused gags from the original.
