After completing a 5,000 nautical mile journey, the Disney Treasure arrived at its home port of Port Canaveral, Florida this morning at 6:00 AM ET. The ship arrived just before the sun and its lights glistened in the early morning as it approached its home port.
The Disney Treasure pulled into Port Canaveral for the first time and was treated by over 250 Disney cast members, media, and many spectators. Also on hand were Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie! As the ship came closer to the pier, its horn could be heard echoing as it played a variety of tunes to the delight of those in attendance.
On board, the ship, the cast members and crewmembers were eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Disney Treasure in Port Canaveral as well after traversing across the Atlantic Ocean from Eemshaven, Netherlands. Crew members came together on the open decks and whistled, cheered, and roared with delight as lights appeared in the distance. This was a historic moment for the crew on board the ship along with cast members and other viewers on shore as the Disney Treasure joins the Disney Cruise Line fleet.
The next few days for the Disney Treasure will be spent in Port Canaveral as it gears up for its Christening on November 19, 2024, in New York City. This comes just a few weeks before its maiden voyage on December 21. This is when guests will officially be welcomed aboard for the first time.
The first cruise for the Disney Treasure will be a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise when it departs on December 21st. This will be followed by the inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Cruises aboard the Disney Treasure can be booked through Mouseways Travel, the official travel partner of Daps Magic.
Daps Magic will be covering the christening of the Disney Treasure next Tuesday night. The official stream can be found on the Disney Parks Blog. Will you be watching?
