On this day in 2004, ‘National Treasure’ was released in theaters. The action adventure film stars Nicholas Cage as Benjamin Franklin Gates, a treasure hunter of early American artifacts. A mysterious code on the back of the Declaration of Independence sets off a quest of epic proportions for Gates and his associates.
