‘Tyrolean Fantasy’ to be Featured at Disney Legend Tony Baxter’s Stage Nine Appearance

On November 9, 2024, Disney Legend and former Walt Disney Imagineer Tony Baxter will be making an appearance at Stage Nine in Sacramento, California. The free community event will be taking place from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

During this event, Baxter will be at The Underground Vault at Stage Nine for meet & greet opportunities. He will also be available to sign guest purchases of his new artwork releases from the Disney Fine Art portfolio. These include Tyrolean Fantasy (a beautiful piece inspired by Pinocchio) and Steps of St. Paul’s (inspired by Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins).

Recently, Baxter spoke with Michael Young (CEO of Disney Fine Art, published by Collectors Editions and officially licensed by Disney) about his newest Disney Fine Art release, Tyrolean Fantasy. Daps Magic will be sharing more of this interview soon. However, in the interview, Baxter shared about how Tyrolean Fantasy came to be.

He told Young, “I was working with Claude [Coates], and I mentioned that I’d like to paint something in the style of a background from Pinocchio. He laughed and said, ‘Do you know how hard that will be?’ And I replied, ‘Probably, but I have to feel like I did it.’ He was right. It took me about six weeks to complete what we’re calling ‘Tyrolean Fantasy’ today (back then, I didn’t even have a name for it). I did it all on my own time at home after work.”

Those who visit Stage Nine for this event will see how beautiful Tyrolean Fantasy is. They will also be able to see a selection of authentic props from some iconic Disneyland attractions associated with Baxter. In fact, these props will be available for purchase by enthusiasts so they can add to their collections.
