A new movie exploring a classic Disney character is in the works. Deadline is reporting that Paul King of the Paddington films is working on a new movie focused on a new story about Princess Charming. The film is apparently going to be a new story about Princess Charming Charming that doesn’t necessarily have Cinderella in it.
Throughout literature, there are quite a few different origins for Prince Charming. This provides some options for storytelling for King and Disney to explore. In some films, he has been connected with other princesses. However, traditionally Princess Charming and Cinderella are the two who fall in love.
For Disney, this could be the start of a beneficial partnership. King not only was behind the Paddington movies, which became hits with families, but also behind Wonka. All of these films have done quite well and also reached demographics that Disney is known for reaching.
King is being joined by Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker in writing this new story. Farnaby worked with him on the Paddington films and also Wonka.
