On this day in 2019, ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ was released in theaters. It was the second in the ‘Maleficent’ series, a live-action reimagination of Disney’s animated classic ‘Sleeping Beauty.’ Angelina Jolie returns in the title role along with Elle Fanning as her goddaughter Aurora. The sequel takes place five years after the original film where the coming wedding of Aurora and Prince Phillip brings out dark forces that threaten to divide the kingdom. [5 years ago in 2024]
