On this day in 2012, the 3-D stop-motion animation film ‘Frankenweenie’ was released. Dreamed up and directed by Tim Burton, the film was fleshed out from his 1984 short of the same name. ‘Frankenweenie’ was both a satire of and a tribute to the ‘Frankenstein’ story. When young Victor’s dog Sparky is killed, Victor resurrects him in an electrical storm. The other children find out what happened and try to bring back their own pets, to chaotic results!
