A new show based on Disney Villains is heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the summer of 2025. The show, which was announced today by the Disney Parks Blog, is being developed by Disney Live Entertainment.
This new show promises to include dozens of Disney Villains. The show will be found deep in the shadows of Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When the show opens, guests will see how Sunset Showcase has been transformed into the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror. Disney teased that Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent will each be breaking through the glass to take the stage in live production numbers.
The arrival of this new Disney Villains show will mean that Lightning McQueen will have to take a road trip and depart from the Sunset Showcase. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will continue to be offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios until October 7, 2024. Then he will hit the road as work begins for the villains to take up residence.
This new villains-based show isn’t the only villainous offering coming to Walt Disney World Resort. A new land is coming to Magic Kingdom that is based on Disney Villains. It will be near a new Cars-themed area at the Magic Kingdom. Both of these were announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
