There are some fun new updates coming out from the Disney Cruise Line today regarding its upcoming ship the Disney Destiny. Along with revealing that the ship will be taking its maiden voyage in November 2025, Disney Cruise Line also gave a look at what the Pirates of the Caribbean themed pub will be like! The pub is called the Cask and Cannon and is themed to the Pirates of the Caribbean attractions found in Disney Parks around the world!
Concept art was shared by the Disney Cruise Line for this new pub. It looks beautiful. There are also some really fun details found within the artwork. This includes a map (perhaps a treasure map?) that is painted on the ceiling. The cozy pub also is furnished with treasure that pirates acquired/pillaged/pilfered/discovered during the pirates’ adventures throughout the seven seas. Along with these treasures, it appears that sports lovers will treasure the television screens found on the walls. Based on the concept art, it could be possible that games will be played on these screens for patrons to enjoy. This is just concept art, however. Anything could change when artwork becomes a physical reality!
The Cask and Canon will also have an extensive menu that includes rare, specialty and vintage rums. This menu promises to impress even the most seasoned swashbucklers. There will also be a not-so-secret selection of “bootlegged” brews that are developed specially for this venue. These will be served straight from the barrel in tru pirate style? This should never leave travelers asking the question, “why’s the rum gone!?” Disney Cruise Line is also teasing that the savviest treasure-hunters might find a mysterious trove of looted libations served in an actual treasure chest!
Along with Cask and Canon, there will also be some other experiences to enjoy while aboard the Disney Destiny. The ship, inspired by Disney heroes and villains, will offer some other legendary experiences. Here are just a few of the magical offerings that will be found aboard this ship:
- Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrating the music of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Lion King”
- “Disney Hercules,” an all-new, Broadway-style show retelling the popular Disney Animation film
- De Vil’s, a wickedly chic piano lounge celebrating the one and only Cruella de Vil
- Edna Á La Mode Sweets, a one-of-a-kind confectionary inspired by Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Incredibles”
- The Sanctum, Disney Cruise Line’s first lounge inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Marvel’s Doctor Strange
- Plus, hero-worthy staterooms and suites featuring custom artwork of some of our most epic Disney stories; a new, villain-packed storyline aboard the AquaMouse water attraction; and iconic tributes to legendary Marvel Super Heroes like Black Panther, Spider-Man and Iron Man!
Bookings will be available for the general public for the maiden voyage and inaugural season of the Disney Destiny on September 12, 2024.
