Inside Out 2 continues to move forward and achieve new records. This weekend, the new record is an international one for the Pixar film. The sequel to Inside Out became the first animated film to reach $1 billion at the international box office. This feat is even more impressive as it makes it only the 12th film to ever achieve this milestone internationally.
Reaching $1 billion internationally is an indication that Inside Out 2 has connected with movie-goers around the world. This is shown by the strong results the film has had in a variety of countries. The film has shown the strongest results in Mexico ($102.2 million), Brazil ($80 million), the United Kingdom ($72.7 million) France ($62.6 million), and Korea ($60.8 million).
Achieving $1 billion internationally at the box office is just one record the film has broken. It already is the highest-grossing movie of the year with $1,002 billion overseas and $646.3 million domestically. In total, it has garnered $1,659 billion globally. It also surpassed Frozen II to become the highest-grossing animated film in history.
Inside Out 2 is just one movie that is helping The Walt Disney Company have a very good summer at the box office. Wolverine & Deadpool has become the most successful R-rated film of all time. It also has surpassed the $1 billion mark at the global box office. Currently, it has made $1.21 billion and sits in the 8th sport for successful movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is expected to pass up Iron Man 3 and become the 7th soon. Iron Man 3 made $1.215 billion at the global box office.
The recently released Alien: Romulus is also showing some strength at the box office. To date, it has earned $225.4 million globally. This includes $73.3 million in China, where it has shown surprising strength in a country that hasn’t seen many hits since the pandemic.
