Next year the Disney Adventure will join the Disney Cruise Line fleet. When it does, it will be the biggest ship in the fleet. It also will be the only ship that finds its home port in Singapore. Ahead of the ship’s arrival in Singapore, Disney Cruise Line is beginning to reveal details about this ship.
Today, details were shared about Disney Imagination Garden. This is the central hub of the ship. A look at the artwork shows a lovely and colorful landscaped area that will be immersive. It is described as an “enchanted valley inspired by 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney adventures.” Disney Imagination Garden promises to transport guests into favorite Disney stories with their favorite characters. Disney Imagination Garden will also have a three-deck-tall storybook castle piece of art. This is the first-of-its-kind onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship. There will also be a state-of-the-art theatrical stage to bring Disney stories to life. If that’s not enough, there will also be two quick-service eateries, a bar, and also a selection of garden-view staterooms.
“Disney Imagination Garden is the heart and soul of the Disney Adventure, where our guests will interact with our Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories in a whole new way,” said Laura Cabo, portfolio executive creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering. “The size and scale of this space provided us with so many opportunities to dream big and try new things with our experiential design, creating first-of-a-kind experiences for our guests, from all-new entertainment to delicious dining and lots of magical surprises sprinkled throughout. Rooted in the rich legacy of Disney storytelling, we’re creating an area that will open doors to new adventures and encourage guests to create magic of their own.”
There are seven uniquely themed areas aboard the Disney Adventure. The Disney Imagination Garden is just one of them. The other six include Disney Discovery Reef, San Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Marvel Landing and Toy Story Place. Details about each of these spaces will be released later. In each of these destinations, cruisers will find experiences that include characters and more.
Disney Imagination Garden on the Disney Adventure
A Storybook Adventure
Disney Imagination Garden is influenced by pop-up storybooks. As one looks around the garden, there will be landscapes that are styled to look like paper cut-outs. This includes decorative foliage, shaped topiaries, tall trees and cascading vines. There will also be scenic props including towering trellises and twinkling lanterns. Throughout the gardens there will be a mix of popular characters and designs from the stories of Disney, Pixar, and Marvel.
Garden Stage
The Garden Stage in Disney Imagination Garden will anchor the opposite end of this space from the castle artwork. Between the castle and the stage there will a promenade where families can explore, connect, and dine. There will be an open “lawn” in front of the stage that lead to a large staircase that will double as amphitheater-style seating. This will be perfect for creating opportunities to enjoy the live entertainment that will be offered on the Garden Stage. On both sides of the staircase there will be intricately adorned arches and leafy tree branches with hanging lanterns to continue the storybook theme of the garden.
Garden Courtyard and Bar
At the top of the grand staircase, there will be a charming garden courtyard and also a bar. This area will be surrounded by trees that will created to look like storybook cut-outs and there will be images of familiar animal pals decorating as well. A Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse topiary will be found in the center of the courtyard. This Mickey Mouse will stand with his magic wand as if he is bringing the magical garden to life with characters and stories.
A Lovely View
For those families that are staying in the Garden View staterooms, they will have access to a verandah that offers beautiful views of Disney Imagination Garden. The Garden View staterooms are a brand-new category of rooms for the Disney Cruise Line.
Disney Imagination Garden Entertainment
There will be some incredible shows, character appearances, and other magical surprises found at Disney Imagination Garden on the state-of-the-art Garden Stage. This stage includes three-deck-high LED screens. There are also other special effects and innovative theatrical tools to bring the magic of Disney storytelling to life for guests of all ages who visit Disney Imagination Garden.
Avengers Assemble!
Marvel fans will be very excited to learn that one of the signature entertainment experiences found on the Garden Stage will be Avengers Assemble! This is an action-packed show that includes some incredible stunts and incredible special effects. It will also have the arrival of Deadpool making his Disney Cruise Line debut. After a successful arrival in Disney Theme Parks at Avengers Campus at the Disneyland Resort (as seen above) and Disneyland Paris, Deadpool will bring his signature irreverence and comedy to this spectacle. During this epic battle of Marvel Super Heroes against Villains at sea, there will be appearances by some of the greatest heroes and villains that include Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Red Skull, Taskmaster and more.
Disney Cruise Line promises that there will be additional shows and entertainment offerings offered on the Garden Stage. Details about them, however, will be released at a later date!
Dining in the Disney Imagination Garden
There will be two quick-service dining locations found in the Disney Imagination Garden aboard the Disney Adventure. They will each feature regional cuisine. They will be inspired by the animated worlds of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Jungle Book and Moana. These will continue the Disney Imagination Garden’s immersive storytelling as families are brought in to dine within the themed environments of these stores. There will be options for either indoor or outdoor seating at both locations. The guests who decide to dine on the patio at either location will also be able to see the Garden Stage and enjoy the entertainment being offered there.
Mowgli’s Eatery
Mowgli’s Eatery will serve Indian cuisine. This includes vegetarian and regional dishes that will have a Disney twist. This casual dining destination will be inspired by Mowgli’s incredible journey in The Jungle Book. The restaurant will draw on both early concept art from the film and also authentic regional design influences.
Gramma Tala’s Kitchen
Inspired by Moana, Gramma Tala’s Kitchen will reflect the beautiful scenery and island flair of this animated film. It will include decorations that are inspired by the Pacific Islands anad have art and backgrounds based on the film. The menu will showcase the diverse flavors found throughout the Pacific and Asia.
Magical Adventures Aboard the Disney Adventure
When the Disney Adventure begins to sail out of Singapore in 2025, families will have the option to enjoy three or four night regional voyages. These cruises will include only days at sea as the ship is both the journey and destination for these cruises. The Disney Adventure will provide endless opportunities for families to vacation together in an unforgettable way without ever leaving the ship.
The staterooms will include Disney touches and family-friendly conveniences. There will multiple different types of rooms to choose from. This includes those that offer beautiful ocean views and others that provide scenic views of the ship’s spectacular promenades. There are also dedicated concierge accommodations. The concierge bookings provide a luxurious experience with access to exclusive area and amenities. This includes a private indoor lounge, a sundeck with shaded pool and whirlpools, some high end shopping venues, and also first-class spa and fitness facilities.
Disney Adventure
When she takes guests to sea in 2025, the Disney Adventure will be sailing from Marina Bay Cruise Centre. This will be this ship’s home for at least five years. This is a part of the collaboration between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board.
It is estimated by the Disney Cruise Line that the passenger capacity of the Disney Adventure will be approximately 6,700 guests. There will also be around 2,500 crew members aboard the 208,000-gross-ton ship.
There are plenty of other experiences aboard the Disney Adventure that are promised to be released at a later date.
