Din Tai Fung will be open very soon for guests to enjoy when visiting the Downtown Disney District. Today it was announced that the new restaurant will be soft opening on July 24, 2024. At this time, guests will be required to make reservations to experience the restaurant’s limited menu service from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The grand opening of the restaurant will be in July. At this point, the full service will be available.
Din Tai Fung is a global restaurant company that is known for the art of Xiao Long Bao and excellence in hospitality. This restaurant is the only freestanding Din Tai Fung location built from the ground up. It is infused with architectural and design elements that pay homage to the company’s Taiwanese heritage. In total, the restaurant has 7,500 square feet with two dining rooms that flank either side of the central bar area. All of this is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows.
“Opening our first standalone location in Downtown Disney District is an exciting chapter for us. We are immensely honored and excited to bring Asian-focused dining to the Downtown Disney District,” said Aaron Yang, Vice President of Din Tai Fung USA. “We’re looking forward to serving guests from around the world as they visit during their theme park adventures and we hope to invite them along on the Din Tai Fung journey celebrating culinary excellence and authenticity.”
Anyone who has visited Downtown Disney District recently can attest to how impressive this new restaurant looks from the outside. Its exterior is a dramatic, contemporary take on a traditional Chinese pavilion rooftop structure. There is also a suspended, beaded installation over the circular central bar that greets guests upon entering the restaurant, with traditional-style Chinese pendants softly illuminating the space. An expo kitchen will serve as a backdrop, inviting guests to witness the artistry behind the dumpling-making process firsthand.
The menu for Din Tai Fung includes signature soup dumplings that are handcrafted with an 18-fold process, wontons, noodles, steamed buns, bok choy, pork chop fried rice and other flavorful dishes. Reservations can be made on Din Tai Fung’s website.
Along with the opening of Din Tai Fung, there will also be a release of two new, limited collections of brand apparel and accessories. These will be available for purchase at Din Tai Fung in Downtown Disney District while supplies last. These will be coming soon and only be available for a limited time.
Din Tai Fung has also announced that it will be a proud sponsor of the 2024 CHOC Walk in the Park, presented by the Disneyland Resort (join Team Daps Magic today!). The restaurant is donating $50,000 to the CHOC Walk, which takes place on July 21st. This event brings the community together to raise funds for programs, education, and research for patients at Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
