On this day in 1992, Touchstone Pictures released the musical comedy ‘Sister Act.’ Whoopi Goldberg stars as Deloris, a nightclub singer who is forced to hide from the mob after witnessing a murder. She reluctantly takes refuge in a convent. Although Deloris is a fish out of water, her musical talent and free-spirited nature prevail. She breathes new life into the convent choir, bringing a Motown repertoire that draws a lot of attention–both good and bad.
