The Disneyland Resort has announced that sales of Magic Keys will again be resuming on March 5, no earlier than 9:00 AM PT. The queue will be opening no earlier than 8:45 AM. This sale of Disneyland Resort Magic Keys is the first time that they have gone on sale in 2024. All four levels of Magic Keys will be going on sale.
The following announcement was shared on the Magic Key page on Disneyland.com:
Magic Key passes go back on sale March 5, 2024! All 4 pass types will be available for purchase. The online queue opens no earlier than 8:45 AM Pacific Time, and sales begin no earlier than 9:00 AM Pacific Time. View the buying guide for helpful tips on purchasing a Magic Key pass.
The Magic Key program provides reservation-based admission to one or both Disneyland Resort theme parks. At this time, current Magic Key holders may have the opportunity during their renewal window (currently up to 30 days prior to the pass expiration date) to renew into a pass made available within the program. The quantity of passes and pass types available for renewal may be limited. Passes or a pass type may be unavailable from time to time or at any given time or available only for renewal.
If you wish to get a new Magic Key, it is suggested that you be ready at this time. It is not uncommon for popular Magic Key passes to sell out quickly and it is unknown when Magic Key sales will go on sale again. Magic Key passes will still be available for renewal once they sell out.
To make the Magic Key purchasing process as smooth as possible, here are a few tips (full guide below):
- If you don’t have one already, create and/or login to a Disney account on Disneyland.com before entering the virtual queue.
- Add your payment information to your Disney account on Disneyland.com before entering the virtual queue.
- A maximum of $1,000 from a Disney Gift Card can also be used as a method of payment online when you pay in full for a new Magic Key pass. Only one Disney Gift Card can be used per transaction, so if you have multiple gift cards, combine them in advance. Disney Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase renewals at this time.
- Research which Magic Key you want for you and anyone else you are purchasing for before March 5 (read details about the different Magic Keys below).
- Review the Magic Key calendar to see which Magic Key pass has the dates you want to visit on. Recognize that this calendar is fluid and changes regularly, sometimes due to availability of reservations.
- Have the following information available for each of the Magic Keys you want to purchase:
- First and last name
- Date of birth
- Address
- Phone number (Guests 18 years of age and older)
- Email (Guests 18 years of age and older)
- Only 10 Magic Keys may be purchased at one time.
- Eligible Disneyland Resort theme park tickets may be upgraded to an available Magic Key pass while passes are available for sale, subject to restrictions. Learn more about ticket upgrades. This availability may not always stay the same.
- A current Magic Key pass may be upgraded to an available higher pass type for the remainder of its pass year. The difference in purchase price between the 2 passes must be paid in full at the time of upgrade. The expiration date of the Magic Key pass will not change. Passes may be upgraded at the Disneyland Resort ticket booth only, while passes are available for sale. Please note that you might encounter a wait at the ticket booth.

- Entry to the waiting room does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase a pass.
Keep Your Waiting Room Browser Tab Open (if you haven’t signed up to be notified by email when it’s your turn)
Running multiple browser tabs or manually refreshing the page may remove you from the queue. If you’re removed, you will have to re-enter the queue at the back of the line.Monthly Payment Option

You Can Be Notified by Email When It’s Your Turn for an Opportunity to Purchase(Optional)
If you choose to submit your email address and opt in to being notified by email when it’s your turn, you’ll receive 2 separate emails containing a unique link. Be sure to confirm the receipt of the first email before closing your browser window. If you don’t receive that first email, check your spam folder for it. If you still don’t see it, re-enter your email address again from the waiting room page.
- First email – Selecting the link in the first email will allow you to check your place in the queue until it’s your turn. You can use the link multiple times to check your status in the queue before it’s your turn.
- Second email – You’ll receive a second email notifying you that your turn for an opportunity to purchase a Magic Key pass is approaching.
From the time your turn begins, you’ll have 10 minutes to use the link to return to the site or you’ll lose your place in line and will need to rejoin the queue. When it’s your turn, you’ll only be able to use your unique link once. The link will no longer work after you use it, whether you purchase a pass or not. So, please be prepared to select your Magic Key pass and check out once you open the link. If you miss your turn, you’ll need to rejoin the queue.
Please note: Magic Key pass availability is limited. Opting in to be notified by email when it’s your turn does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase a pass.
Passes Are Nonrefundable and Nontransferable
Choose carefully as passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Don’t have multiple people in your party purchasing passes.
Utilizing New Magic Key
Once you have purchased your Magic Key, you will be able to make reservations ahead of your first visit to the Disneyland Resort to use it. First things first, visit the park reservations page on the Disneyland website. This can be found by going to Disneyland.com and doing the following:
- Login to Disney account at Disneyland.com
- Navigate to the menu labeled “Parks & Tickets”
- Click on “Ticket and Reservation Details”
- Click on “Make or Modify Park Reservations”
- Click on “Book Theme Park Reservation”
- Select the Magic Keys that reservations are being booked for and then click “continue”
- Pick available date from Magic Key calendar for reservations
- Pick which park (it will only show available parks) you wish to enter first and then click “continue”
- Agree to the terms and conditions and then confirm the reservation
- Finally, check your email to confirm you got a confirmation on your reservation
- Go to the Disneyland Resort on the day of the reservation and enter the park you chose before 11:00 AM
- If entering a park for the first time after 11:00 AM, either park may be entered
Reservations can also be made through the Disneyland App. The system is similar but starts by clicking on “+” in the bottom middle of the app and then clicking on “Make a Park Reservation” and following the directions.
Reservations can be cancelled or modified anytime up to 11:59 PM PT the night before the date of the reservation. This is important to avoid having a “no-show.” Here is the current no-show policy for Disneyland Resort Magic Keys:
Magic Key No-Show Policy
To help optimize availability of reservations for Magic Key holders with intent to visit, at this time, Magic Key holders who are a no-show for 3 reservations in any 90-day window will be unable to make new park reservations or modify existing park reservations for 30 days. Existing park reservations at that time will not be cancelled. The 30-day period begins the day after the third no-show, and will continue even if the pass is upgraded to another pass type or renewed during that time. A Magic Key holder who enters the designated park any time before closing on the day of the reservation is not considered a no-show. If the reservation is for both parks, only one park needs to be entered to avoid being a no-show. Magic Key holders who timely cancel or modify a reservation are also not considered a no-show. At this time, cancellation or modification of a reservation must be done by 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the day before the reserved date, subject to availability. The no-show policy is subject to change in Disney’s discretion without notice or liability.
