March 20 is World Storytelling Day. Appropriately enough, Disney has shared some words from Disney cast members and employees that share what exactly makes Disney storytelling so special. This comes as The Walt Disney Company continues its legacy of strong storytelling that has lasted over 100 years! It is integral to what is done at Disney.
Storytelling is something that is special to Disney cast members and employees. They use the power of stories to not just make magic and dreams come true, but to also do their jobs as they “connect to people across the world,” according to Andrew Hendricks, a Creative Producer at Disney.
“It provides us an opportunity to explore life,” Hendricks added. “And reflect on the human experience.”
It also gives the opportunity for Cast Members and employees to be a part of telling the Disney story. Disney shared that this story is really about everyone who works for the company.
“My childhood is just filled with Disney memories,” Jasmine Ervin, Associate Manager, Sports Brand Solutions at Disney Advertising Sales, said. “So, it’s really surreal and a full circle moment that my story is now a part of the Disney story.”
On World Storytelling Day, Disney shared the following video where the storytellers themselves share about storytelling:
