An opening day attraction is returning to Disney California Adventure. Soarin’ Over California will be once again be able to be experienced by guests this spring during the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival. During the festival, the current iteration of the attraction, Soarin’ Around the World, will make way for the original version of the attraction. This comes just days after Soarin’ Over California ended its run at EPCOT as part of Walt Disney World’s Disney100 celebration.

Soarin’ Over California takes guests on flight over some of the most iconic locations found in California. This includes Golden Gate Bridge. Explore picturesque locations including Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, San Diego harbor, Malibu, Los Angeles, and of course the Disneyland Resort. it is accompanied by the beautiful music of Academy Award®-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith.

The limited-time offering of Soarin’ Over California has become a recent annual tradition during the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival that has been greatly appreciated by Disney fans. The 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival runs at the Disneyland Resort from March 1 through April 22. Below is video of this attraction from the 2023 festival.

    At a minimum Soarin’ Over California should be reinstated permanently at Disney’s California Adventure. I believe it is worthy of being reinstated at Epcot as well bevause I am of the opinion it is the more authentic version (less CGI/artificial visusl effects) and has the superior score as composed by Jerry Goldsmith. That said, I would accept a compromise of Soarin over the World at Epcot (appropriate for a park with a “World Showcase” as long as Soarin Over California was available on a permanent basis at the theme park that has “California” in its title. Cmon guys, this should be obvious. You never should fix something if it ain’t broke and Soarin’ over California is so beloved, it feels like a loss any time it gets pulled out of circulation. #makesoarinovercaliforniapermanent
