A new poster has been released for the next installment of the Ghostbusters franchise. The Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire poster shows the classic Ghostbusters teaming up with the new team to face off against a frigid foe. This time, they don’t just need to protect New York, they need to save the world from a second Ice Age. Check out the poster here:
Along with the poster released in the United States for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, new posters were also released internationally. These give a different take on this scene and also appear to reveal more about what could be coming when the film arrives in theaters on March 29, 2024.
Director Gil Kenan shared that there are “terrifying stakes” in this film and that “we are now in the post-Gozerian era of the Ghostbusters saga,” in an interview with Empire Magazine.
“We are now in the post-Gozerian era of the Ghostbusters saga, so that means we’re able to stretch out and create an entirely new mythology. And that’s thrilling as a storyteller because there are all-new and terrifying stakes with fresh visual references to draw on.”
This movie looks like it could be more terrifying than any of its predecessors, and potentially even funnier. Kenan also shared that there will be some “genuinely scary stuff” and that could make “the comedy even funnier.”
“There’s some really, genuinely scary stuff. The scary stuff is actually scary”, adding, “The danger is very real, and the stakes are very high. That makes the comedy even funnier.”
The trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was released about a month ago and gives a look at what will be faced when the film arrives in theaters this spring.
