Some of the cast of Disney’s Frozen North American Tour performed at The White House for its holiday décor unveiling. On November 27, 2023, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was joined by several stars from Frozen who performed some highlights from the Tony®-nominated Best Musical. The stars included Caroline Bowman (Elsa), Lauren Nicole Chapman (Anna),Jeremy Davis (Olaf), Dominic Dorset (Kristoff) and Preston Perez (Hans). This was all part of the The White House official unveiling of the holiday and seasonal décor.
For the event, the First Lady invited National Guard families to be the first members of the public to experience the White House holiday décor. This was a part of Dr. Biden’s Joining Forces initiative to support military families. Once the First Lady had delivered her holiday message, the children of National Guard families were then treated to the performance by the cast of the North American tour of Disney’s stage musical, Frozen.
The performance was met with a strong ovation and the First Lady thanked the cast, saying they were “amazing.” Some of the highlights of this can be seen here:
2023 White House Holidays by the numbers:
- Approximately 14,975 feet of ribbon, over 350 candles, over 33,892 ornaments, and over 22,100 bells were used this year to decorate the White House.
- There are 98 Christmas trees throughout the White House complex.
- The Gingerbread White House creation includes 40 sheets of sugar cookie dough, 40 sheets of gingerbread dough, 90 pounds of pastillage, 30 pounds of chocolate, and 50 pounds of royal icing.
- Over 142,425 holiday lights decorate the trees, garlands, wreaths, and displays in the White House.
- Seventy-two classic wreaths adorn the north and south facades of the White House.
- It takes over 300 dedicated volunteers from across the country working a full week to decorate the inside and outside of the White House.
The North American tour of Disney’s Frozen is currently performing at the Detroit Opera House through December 17th. It will then continue at The Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. from December 20 – January 21.
