The hand made candy canes at the Disneyland Resort are an incredibly popular holiday offering each year during the holidays. Candy cane making is a tradition at the Disneyland Resort that dates back to 1968. Made entirely from scratch, these are hand-pulled candy canes that measure 18 inches long when finished. The candy makers mix pulled peppermint extra at exacting (very hot) temperatures to keep the candy pliable while it is being created. Even the room is kept quite warm (near 100 degrees) to keep the environment conducive to making the candy canes. Stop by during the candy cane making process and the candy makers can be seen pulling and twisting the sugar into its traditional shape. The process to make the candy canes takes around two hours.

There will be two locations where the candy canes will be made at the Disneyland Resort, one in Disneyland and one in Disney California Adventure. For Disneyland, the candy canes are made at Candy Palace on Main Street, USA. Over at Disney California Adventure, candy canes are made and sold at Trolley Treats on Buena Vista Street. They are not made daily, however. They come out on specific days and there is a process for getting them that is delinated below. For each location, candy canes are made on seven specific days.
