Starting on May 17, 2023, the Disneyland Resort will be updating how guests can change their reservations. Currently, guests need to cancel a reservation and then make a new reservation if they want to modify a reservation to a different date or a different park. With limited amounts of reservations at all levels of tickets and Magic Keys and limited availability of reservations for parks on specific days, this can create some complications for guests wanting to change their reservation.
The new system will allow guests to change their reservations simply by modifying them. This will mean that guests will be able to change their reservation to another date or another park on the same date without having to cancel a reservation. What it won’t allow is for tickets to be modified on the date of the reservation. This is the same as the cancellation policy for reservations. Modifications will be made through Disneyland.com with those on the Disneyland app redirected to the website.
Modifications and cancellations will need to be done by 11:59 PM PT the night before a Disneyland Resort reservation date to avoid being considered a “no-show.” If a Magic Key holder has three “no-show” dates within a 90-day window, they will be unable to make new reservations for 30 days.
Since reopening from the pandemic and adopting a reservation system and changing the annual pass system to the Magic Key, the Disneyland Resort has continued to analyze and make adjustments to how it welcomes guests into both its parks. The Magic Key system was updated last year, MagicBand+ wearable technology was implemented, and now this change to how reservations can be modified are some of the changes that have been made.
