Work continues on the transformation of Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom. Once completed, guests will get to go on an all new adventure with Tiana and friends when they visit Walt Disney World Resort. Today, it was announced a visual milestone in this transformation will be happening soon. This will come with the installation of a tiara topped water tower on the attraction at Magic Kingdom.
Once installed, guests will get to see this new tiara topped water tower from all around. It will have Tiana’s Foods logo on the outside of it, continuing the story of Tiana after the events of The Princess and the Frog.
When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in 2024, guests will get to experience Princess Tiana’s story after the story of the film. She and Louis, the jazz-loving alligator will be heading out on an adventure down the bayou as they are prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration for Mardi Gras season. This will be a musical adventure with songs inspired by the film. There will also be some familiar faces seen throughout the attraction.
The Imagineers behind this attraction have gone to great lengths to capture the spirit and energy of both Mardi Gras and the region around New Orleans. They traveled down there multiple times and use the inspiration found there in their creation of the attraction. This includes colors, energy, musical rhythms, and so much more. A video has been released by Disney sharing about a recent trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras to gather more inspiration for the attraction.
