Harrison Ford Comments on Entry Into Marvel Cinematic Universe

Harrison Ford has done a lot of things. He has blasted through space, cracked the whip, flown Air Force One, and even headed out to the wild West throughout the course of his career. One of his next destinations is that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There, he will be taking on the role of Thunderbolt Ross. This role, previously played by William Hurt, will find Ford showing up in the MCU in Captain America: New World Order.

In a recent interview with The Playlist, Ford talked about his entry into the MCU and the reasoning behind it. When asked why he was entering the MCU, Ford had a fairly straightforward answer. “Hey, look, I’ve done a lot of things. I now want to do some of the things I haven’t done,” Ford shared.

Things Ford hasn’t done could include wearing a motion capture suit. With Thunderbolt Ross eventually becoming the Red Hulk, it is very possible that wearing a motion capture suit could be a new thing for Ford in his movie-making career. When asked if he would be putting on a motion capture suit, Ford apparently smiled and simply replied with a “zipped-lips” gesture. This could go either way on if Ford will be donning this suit but it definitely didn’t negate the possibility. It could mean he simply meant that things he hasn’t done before reference working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The 80-year-old Harrison Ford currently continues to stay busy. He is currently promoting the series 1923 and also has Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny coming out in June. 1923 debuts on Sunday on Paramount+. Captain America: New World Order arrives on May 4, 2024.
