The artwork of muralist Eduardo Kobra can now be found at Disney Springs on its art walk. The world-renown Brazilian artist is the first from his country to paint a mural in the shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Walt Disney World Resort. A 95-foot long mural was unveiled as part of Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression.
Eduardo Kobra is considered one of Brazil’s greatest muralists. His works are recognized around the world. According to his website, Cobra’s art career began when he was 11 years old. As a young boy he was known for his street art, which often led to trouble as he was growing up. As time went by, his artistic talent became more and more recognized. He began to make money off of his artwork in the 1990s as he created posters for Brazil’s largest theme park. His art gained more notoriety in the following decade and in 2007 gained more recognition because of the Muro das Memórias project, where he made graffiti art in sepia and black and white recreating old photos from São Paulo. As time went by, his artwork and reach continued to grow. His first piece of art overseas was in 2011 in France.
Today, Eduardo Kobra lives in São Paulo. This is also where his studio is located.
