It’s November! This is the time of year when things begin to get merry in the parks. Decorations are going up, the music will be soon changing, and special treats will be available to enjoy. While it seems like things get faster and faster as the year-end draws close, it’s a good time to slow down and look around and what we are thankful for.
24 days from today is Thanksgiving. For the next 24 days, the Daps Magic team will be sharing different things within The Walt Disney Company that we are thankful for. The focus is on Disney because at the end of the day, that is what brought most of us together. In 2004, it was just a few people from Disneyland who came together and make what would become Daps Magic. We didn’t know what we were getting into or what this new venture would turn into. We did know we wanted a positive place on the internet to share our love of Disney together. Nearly two decades later, we still strive to be that positive place that embraces each other’s differences as we share our love of Disney and geekdom together.
For the first of the 24 Days of Thanksgiving, I thought I would start with where it all started, the people. I am thankful for the people that are a part of Daps Magic and the people I have met because of Daps Magic. Through the years I have been very lucky to meet some absolutely incredible people with different opinions, talents, senses of humor, and so much more. I have had so many magical experiences and learned so many things from so many different people. This has included other Disney guests, Disney legends, other members of the Disney media, producers, animators, voice talent, actors, chefs, musicians, photographers, creators, and the list goes on and on and on. It has been an incredible perk that I never could have imagined. With all of these people have come magical moments and experiences. I am so thankful for each and every one of these.
Thinking back on all of these different experiences with so many amazing people makes me smile. There is so much to be thankful for and I’m looking forward to 24 days of different things that the Daps Magic team is thankful for! We would love for you to join in as well! Here are a “few” photos from the years of magical moments with incredible people. Being behind the camera a lot I definitely missed many moments and many people (like sweeper train days, where are those!?). I hope you enjoy some of these as much as I enjoyed reliving the moments as I picked them!
