No More ‘Star Wars’ Films for John Boyega

John Boyega brought the character of Finn to life in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This is a role he returned to for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, these three movies will most likely be the only Star Wars movies for the actor. In a recent interview, he shared that he was through with the character when asked if he would return to the role. “At this point I’m cool off it. I’m good off it,” he said on SiriusXM’s “Tell Me Everything With John Fugelsang.”

Boyega shared that Finn “is at a good confirmation point where you can just enjoy him in other things.” This includes “the games, the animation,” Boyega said. “But I feel like ‘[Episode] VII’ to ‘[Episode] IX’ was good for me.”

During the interview, Boyega also shared about being the target of racism by some Star Wars fans. This has happened to both him and Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Moses Ingram. Boyega comments on how Disney reacted to the attacks on Ingram. “Moses Ingram being protected makes me feel protected,” he said. “It makes me feel like, ‘Okay, cool. I am not the elephant in the room.’ Because when I started, it wasn’t really a conversation you could bring up.”

While there may not be any Star Wars movies with Finn on the horizon, the character has appeared in video games and LEGO Star Wars specials. This includes the recently released LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation on Disney+.
