Kevin Feige Confirms ‘Fantastic Four’ Won’t Be an Origin Story

When it is released in 2024, the new Fantastic Four movie will not be an origin series. Instead, Feige shared that the story for this film will be new and one that hasn’t been seen before. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he shared a little about where Marvel is going with the film.

“A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before?” Kevin said. He also added, “We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.” Part of this is because the team first was introduced in 1961 by Marvel Comics.

This isn’t the first time the superteam has been brought to the big screen. In 2005 a movie based on the team was released with Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis. A reboot was made 10 years later, that starred Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell. Both movies were origin stories with different takes on their story.

This next Fantastic Four was highlighted at San Diego Comic-Con with a release date being revealed for November 8, 2024. It will be a part of Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. No casting has been announced for this film yet. A director hasn’t been named either.
