ElecTRONica made its debut at Disney California Adventure on October 8, 2010 in Hollywood Land. This nighttime offering celebrated the world of TRON in conjunction with the arrival of TRON: Legacy in theaters. It included entertainment, Laserman, a DJ playing electronic dance music, a preview of TRON: Legacy (in the MuppetVision 3D Theater), a recreation of Flynn’s Arcade (complete with vintage 80s video games), and of course appropriately themed beverages.
Each night would begin with the opening of the ElecTRONica Portal with dancers that brought the world of TRON to life in Disney California Adventure. Here is video of the portal opening from January 2011:
ElecTRONica was immediately a hit with Disney fans who would make their way over to Disney California Adventure in the evenings to see the world of TRON come to life at the Disneyland Resort. It continued through April 15, 2012. After which, it was replaced by the even more popular Mad T Party. Below is a look at the opening night of ElecTRONica.
The preview of TRON: Legacy continued through its arrival on December 10, 2010. It was discontinued after the movie came out, however. ElecTRONica had so much more to offer than just a preview for the movie, however. Guests would come back frequently for the entertainment, the drinks, and the arcade. The DAPS MAGIC team would stop by frequently on Sunday nights and have a foosball tournament.
