Disney Art Display and Walt Disney World Store Heading to Orlando

A new outdoor art display will soon be seen along the I-4/International corridor in Orlando. Disney announced this week that a new larger-than-life animated display will soon be showcasing favorite Disney characters. This will be done with a magical ribbon wrapping around the Hollywood Plaza garage. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Fab 50 golden sculpts will come to life in a ribbon like display here.

“We took a lot of knowledge from setting up the 50th art installations in our parks and the Orlando International Airport and wanted to spread a little of that magic out into the world,” Will Gay, design director with Disney’s Yellow Shoes Creative Group, said. “It all started with a little idea and a question – could we do this? Could we turn this into a dynamic art display bigger than anything we’ve ever done before?”

Inside the building there will be a new Walt Disney World Store that will have merchandise, ticket sales, and also a Disney Vacation Club Virtual Discovery Station. This will be the first-ever DVC display of its kind. This location will open on May 31, 2022 and allow visitors to Central Florida an easy way to purchase souvenirs, park tickets, and also explore Disney Vacation Club membership.

The Disney Vacation Club Virtual Discovery Station will offer floor-to-ceiling screens. It will give guests the chance to virtually experience the theme parks, resorts, and also cruise destinations around the world. This will be done through first-person virtual tours, photo galleries, and videos.

The addition of this new location to the I-4 Drive puts the magic of Disney and Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary right in the middle of a high-traffic area in Central Florida. This magic will soon be seen with Mickey, Minnie, and the gang outside the Hollywood Plaza garage, inviting guests to come inside!
