Tangled & Beauty and the Beast Return to Disneyland’s Royal Theatre

Since the reopening of Disneyland nearly a year ago, the Royal Theatre has been used as a semi-outdoor location where guests could meet their favorite princesses. With the return of traditional meet and greet for the princesses, this location was no longer needed in that capacity. On April 29th, the Royal Theatre in Fantasy Faire was once again used as a theatre.

Storytelling with Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones is again bringing the tales Tangled and Beauty and the Beast to life in the theater. On opening day the showtimes were:

Tangled

  • 11:30 AM
  • 12:45 AM
  • 2:00 PM

Beauty and the Beast

  • 3:45 PM
  • 5:00 PM
  • 6:15 PM

The DAPS MAGIC team was on hand to see the first day’s shows. For the most part, they seemed to be mostly the same as before the pandemic. There were a few changes, however. Below are videos of shows from the first day they reopened.

Tangled

Beauty and the Beast

The return of these two shows comes as Disneyland continues its phased reopening. This has seen some fairly large strides forward in recent weeks with the return of traditional character interactions, the return of nighttime spectaculars, and the relaxation of face mask guidelines.
