Disney has released the first trailer for its upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The series will be arriving on Disney+ on May 25, 2022. The series takes place ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the With which saw the downfall of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s apprentice and friend Anakin Skywalker as he turned into Darth Vader.
Watching the trailer it quickly becomes apparent that there will be some tie-ins from across the Star Wars storytelling universe that include characters that originated as live-action or in the animated realm of a galaxy far, far away. Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hayden Christensen returns to the role of Darth Vader. Joining them in the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Deborah Chow is directing the series. It is being executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.
