Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Disneyland’s Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Getting Enhancements Not Found at Walt Disney World Resort

Disneyland’s Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is still a ways from opening at the Disneyland Resort. However, when it does in 2023, the version at Disneyland will see enhancements that aren’t found at its Walt Disney World Resort counterpart.

In an interview with the OC Register, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock shared about the new attraction that is currently being built in Mickey’s Toontown.

“We’re working really hard on making Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway a fabulous attraction.” Potrock shared. “It’s in Florida already and it’s going to be even better here because it has some enhancements that Florida doesn’t have.”

Speaking on Mickey’s Toontown getting refurbished Potrock said, “Looking at that land as an opportunity to really improve upon the experience for families with younger kids is a big objective of ours. It’s going to become much more interactive. It’s going to have much more park space to picnic, sit in the grass and for kids to run around. That’s going to be a really special place for us here at the resort.”

Throughout the interview, Potrock also shared that he thinks park reservations are here to stay. He also said that character experiences will “get back to a new normal.” What precisely that will be wasn’t shared in the interview. Potrock also said that Disney will be incorporating more intellectual properties a whole lot quicker in the parks moving forward.

The full interview can be found on the OC Register. What do you think of these updates that Ken Potrock shared? Are you excited about the direction the Disneyland Resort is headed? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
