“it’s a small world” Holiday is now open at the Disneyland Resort. Normally, the beloved overlay of It’s a Small World would open with the holiday season kickoff in November. However, due to an issue with flooding, this did not happen, and cast members at Disneyland were forced to quickly repair the attraction. What could have taken months was accomplished in just weeks.
In the morning, the attraction had a 5-minute wait. However, this wait only lasted a couple of hours and by late morning it was significantly longer as more guests made their way back to ride this holiday classic.
The overlay of “it’s a small world” Holiday has been happening annually (other than last year due to the pandemic) since 1997. The attraction celebrates the holiday season around the world and adds Deck the Halls and Jingle Bells to the classic “it’s a small world” theme song that still is sung as guests cruise through the attraction.
Here are photos from some of the scenes of the attraction on the opening day of “it’s a small world” Holiday:
Along with the opening of “it’s a small world” Holiday guests can also experience the front facade being lit each night during the Holiday Lighting Moment. This is a beautiful moment set to music where the Christmas lights on “it’s a small world” Holiday come to life, much like the Christmas tree does on Main Street, USA at Disneyland or the Christmas tree on Buena Vista Street does at Disney California Adventure.
