Recently Tom Holland made it seem far from certain that he had any future as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, producer Amy Pascal seems to be singing a different song. In an interview with Fandango she shared that there are plans for not just one more Spider-Man with Holland, but a full trilogy.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal shared with Fandango. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel, it just isn’t part of… we’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
Even though Holland will apparently have a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be the end of one chapter of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man story. Pascal shared that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be “the culmination of the Homecoming trilogy, of the story of Tom Holland becoming the Spider-Man that we’ve all been waiting for him to be.”
Tom Holland will be wrapping up this “Homecoming trilogy” with an incredible cast. This includes Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy, Tony Revolori as Flash, and Hannibal Buress as Coach Wilson. There will also be some returning Spider-Man actors that include Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Thomas Haden Church as Sandman, and Rhys Ifans as Lizard.
