Thank You Walt Disney, Inc has been working towards “saving Walt Disney’s Kansas City history and providing a place for art and animation study, while encouraging confidence and entrepreneurial individualism.

In a Tweet this morning, Thank You Walt Disney, Inc shared about the accident and showed the damage that had been done. The tweet reads:

Well friends, this is NOT the type of post we want to write. In the midst of our beautiful restoration project, Walt Disney’s historic Laugh-O-gram Building was hit by a car last night. As Walt said though, we will keep moving forward.

Walt Disney’s Laugh-O-gram Studio is in Kansas City, Missouri. It was here that Walt Disney founded his first studio, Laugh-O-Gram Films in May of 1922. On the second floor of this building, Walt’s studio occupied five rooms and employed 11 people. The final short film produced here was Alice’s Cartoonland. Unfortunately, shortly after this Walt Disney would go into bankruptcy and ended up leaving Kansas City for California in 1923.

The DAPS MAGIC team had the opportunity to visit this historic location in 2014. Here is a look at what was seen that day:
