Orlando International Airport Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Decoration

Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary to Extend to Orlando International Airport

On October 1, 2021, Walt Disney World Resort will kick off The World’s Most Magical Celebration for its 50th-anniversary. The parks at Walt Disney World Resort will be decorated for the celebration, new shows will be introduced, and magic will be shared with the guests who visit. Today it was announced that the magic will begin before guests arrive at Walt Disney World Resort.

When guests arrive at Orlando International Airport, they will get their first taste of the 50th-anniversary celebration. Currently, there is a team of cast members at work transforming the arrival experience at Orlando International Airport (MCO) with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA).

The work being done will be completed in time for the 50th-anniversary celebration in October. Travelers will get to experience Disney touches that will include some “wide-spanning art installation in the terminal train stations” that will feature favorite Disney friends. There will also be some new magic that engages passengers through magical EARidescent light patterns. There will also be a photo opportunity that is immersive and recreates a Disney ride vehicle.

Another addition being worked on by Disney with the airport is the opening of a new Magic of Disney store that will be opening with the South Terminal Complex in 2022.

“Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World share a commitment to the Central Florida community. We proudly recognize the outstanding accomplishment of our longtime partner as they celebrate this impressive 50th Anniversary milestone,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “Collaborating on a commemorative presence at Florida’s busiest airport means we get to be the first moment of celebration for guests flying into Orlando to be part of the spectacular fanfare.”

The arrival at Orlando International Airport for guests is often when their Disney trip really becomes “real” and the Disney part of the vacation begins. Now, this part of the journey will be even more magical. What do you think of these magical additions at Orlando International Airport for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th-anniversary celebration?
