Disneyland Paris has once again delayed its reopening plans due to the ongoing pandemic’s impact. Disneyland Paris had hoped to reopen on April 2nd. A post on the Disneyland Paris website said, “Due to prevailing conditions and travel restrictions across Europe, Disneyland Paris will not reopen on April 2 as initially planned. We are optimistic that we will be able to reopen soon, and we will share updates when possible.”
Disneyland Paris President Natacha Rafalski also posted an update on social media. In the message she said that “while we are encouraged by the positive trends we are seeing around the globe, and we are hopeful that the situation in Europe and here in France will continue to improve, due to prevailing conditions and the current travel restrictions in Europe, Disneyland Paris will not open on April 2 as initially planned.”
She continued, “we certainly look forward to the moment we can share an opening date with each of you – our most loyal fans.” She continued to say that they are waiting for guidelines from the government before recalling cast members. In the meantime, Disneyland Paris is working on making future trips the best that they possibly can for guests. Reservations continue to be flexible for those who need to change travel plans.
Rafalski also noted that work is being done throughout Disneyland Paris while the parks are closed. This includes the work being done on Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, Cars Road Trip, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Le Carousel de Lancelot, Les Voyages de Pinocchio, and also Blanche-Niege et les Sept Nains (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs).
The message concluded with an assertion that “All of you: our Guests our fans, our annual pass holders, are the reason we keep on creating, innovating, and pushing boundaries.” Rafalski again shared how they all look forward to the reopening date and being a “gateway to your unforgettable memories with loved ones.”
The update on the planned reopening of Disneyland Paris marks the third time that this reopening has been delayed. Disneyland Paris closed on March 12, 2020, and then reopened on July 29th of the same year. However, Disneyland Paris then had to close again on October 29th and has remained closed since. Originally it had hoped to reopen for Christmas. The next window for reopening was to be in mid-February before that too was pushed off to April 2nd. A new reopening date has not been announced at this time.
