Yesterday, Orange County officials announced that the Disneyland Resort would be the home to the first regional “super POD“. This afternoon, Disney Parks officially announced that the COVID-19 Vaccination site would be in the Toy Story Lot!
In a statement by Dr. Pamela Hymel, Disney’s Chief Medical Officer, she said: “Disneyland Resort is proud to help support Orange County and the City of Anaheim with the use of our parking lot, and we are grateful for all of their efforts to combat COVID-19. After a year in which so many in our community have faced unprecedented hardship and uncertainty, there is now reason for optimism with the administration of a vaccine.”
COVID-19 Vaccination sites like the one we will at the Disneyland Resort will have a major impact on local residents. These sites will have professionals potentially distributing thousands of vaccines each and every day once it is officially open. This will hopefully bring Orange County and the state of California even closer to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At this time, Orange County is still working through vaccinating the first eligible citizens in the first tier, but they will be updating residents as the county moves to new tiers.
