Disney CEO Bob Chapek Speaks Out After Washington D.C. Chaos

Yesterday, Washington D.C. was thrown into chaos when a mob descended on the Capitol of the United States of America. Following the riot, today Disney CEO Bob Chapek released a statement.  This came as multiple other leaders across the countries shared their disdain for yesterday’s events. The statement was released on the official Disney Twitter account and then also shared on other Disney accounts.

Statement from The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek

“Yesterday was a sad and tragic day for our country, one unlike any other in our history. What we saw was an egregious and inexcusable assault on America’s most revered institution and our democracy. Thankfully, the democratic process that we hold dear ultimately prevailed. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we come together as one nation — united by our shared values, including decensy, kindness, and respect for others. We should seize this opportunity, and move ahead with optimism and hope for a better, brighter future for all of America.”

The Walt Disney Company has made statements that encourage the nation to move towards a better future before. Just this year it has released statements that encouraged inclusion and came out against racism. Disney even added a fifth “key,” or core value, that was Inclusion earlier this year to give direction on how cast members are to act and operate.

DAPS MAGIC will continue to follow this story and provide updates as they become available and share any other further releases from The Walt Disney Company.
