A few weeks ago, we told you about our friend Erin, an extremely talented artist and creator of the show, The Drawing Board. Over the last few months, Erin has interviewed dozens of people from the arts and entertainment industry for her show! Each week, she highlights one of these incredible individuals, which you can find on her channel. Erin is very passionate about the arts, as she wanted to find a way to help those negatively affected by the pandemic.
Tomorrow, October 14th, she is hosting The Drawing Board: Live!, a virtual fundraiser that will benefit The 52nd Street Project. Their goal is to provide kids with a theater experience like no other! They pair them with theater professionals to collaborate on a project which will later be showcased to the public. Not only does it teach them lessons about their future careers, but additional life lessons as well.
Some amazing guests are scheduled to appear during this live-stream! If you’re a fan of Aladdin, both the animated classic and Broadway show, the line-up is amazing! Original voice, Broadway, and West End actors are scheduled to appear! The guests include: Matthew Croke, Jonathan Freeman, James Monroe Iglehart, Adam Jacobs, Arielle Jacobs, Linda Larkin, and Don Darryl Rivera! This is an event you will not want to miss!
Erin has a passion for theater and the story of Aladdin is one she has loved since she was a kid. She felt this was the perfect way to celebrate the “diamond in the rough”, all while helping an amazing cause. I asked Erin why she wanted to get this group together and create this unique experience, and she said:
“To me, theater is an important part of the entertainment industry, and no one can go support the actors who pour every ounce of them into the roles they play on an 8 show-a-week basis normally. I wanted to highlight the people who put forth the hard work and effort to bring these beloved stories to light and hear what they love about these roles they get to play.”
This will be an exciting event that will give fans the chance to “have a more personal connection to the people involved in telling this story, as well as the story itself” as Erin said. This is also a great way to get involved and help an amazing cause that can change kids lives.
When and Where To Find this Event
