Disney Releases Photos of The Mandalorian Season Two!

Disney has released photos of the second season of The Mandalorian ahead of its arrival on Disney+ on October 30th. While they don’t give away much of what is going to happen in the second season of the hit show, it does provide a glimpse at what is coming.

For those who remember the first season, it ended with Moff Gideon appearing with the Darksaber as Mando and “the child” head off to search for the people of “the child.” This second season will build off of this as Mando makes more friends and faces more foes. It is expected that Rosario Dawson will be appearing in season two as Ahsoka Tano. Temuera Morrison is also expected to appear as an unknown character. Katee Sackhoff is expected to show up as Bo-Katan Kryze. Michael Biehn and Timothy Olyphant are also supposed to appear in this season as unknown characters.

“The new season is about introducing a larger story in the world,” says Favreau to EW. “The stories become less isolated, yet each episode has its own flavor, and hopefully we’re bringing a lot more scope to the show.” Dave Filoni added, “Everything gets bigger, the stakes get higher, but also the personal story between the Child and the Mandalorian develops in a way I think people will enjoy.”

With this growth in scope, different storylines will also be explored. Without having to have the startup costs this time around, things could just keep getting bigger. The eight episodes that will be arriving in season two will be of different lengths and different directors. Even Favreau will take a first shot at directing the first episode of season two.

The setup for this season will have Gideon pursuing Mando and “the Child.” Expect this season to be even better than the first. As Dave Filoni said, “You want The Empire Strikes Back to be better than A New Hope.” Fans will have to wait until October 30th to start discovering if this ends up being true. For now, they will have to just enjoy taking a look at this first batch of pictures from the second season that was released by Disney.
