It has nearly been a month since Chadwick Boseman passed away. While we have seen many tributes in the last few weeks, many people around the world are still feeling the effects of Boseman’s passing. In an amazing move by Disney, a tribute by artist Nikkolas Smith has appeared in Downtown Disnet District.
In a tweet by Nikkolas, he acknowledges the honor that it is to be able to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman in this way. The tribute shows Chadwick with a child in a hospital gown doing the Wakanda Salute. Over the last few years, Boseman has spent a lot of time with sick children and instilling them with the confidence they needed to keep fighting through such svary times. Of course, this became tragically ironic when the world found out that he was battling his own diagnosis.
I am personally so excited to see this tribute in an official spot in the Disneyland Resort. Chadwick Boseman used his celebrity for good so frequently and I am grateful that Disney gave Nikkolas Smith the opportunity to honor him in such a beautiful way. You can check out the tribute below and we hope that we will be able to see this ourselves very soon.
My #KingChad tribute is now on display at Downtown Disney. I'm so thankful to be able to honor Chadwick’s life and purpose in this way. I am grateful to the @Disney family for being so supportive of my journey as an artist.
