Remembering – GEEKS CORNER – Episode 1031 (#502)

Welcome to another fun-filled episode of GEEKS CORNER! This week the geeks are again joined by Doug March of 30 Years Ago at Disneyland. The show is a fun blend of past and present this week. First off, today it was announced that Shanghai Disneyland will be reopening on May 11th. The geeks talk about the ramifications of this.

The geeks then pivot to the past and talk about 15 years ago and the kick off of Disneyland’s 50th Anniversary celebration. A big perk of this was the Parade of Dreams, which the geeks chat about. Doug also shares some video from a commercial taping of this iconic parade. They also talk about some other highlights of the Happiest Homecoming on Earth.

Another blast from the past revolves around an interview that Cameron did this week with Don Carson, best known in the Disney community for his conceptualization for Toontown, and Walt Disney World’s Splash Mountain. This will be premiering on Wednesday May 6th at 7:00 PM here:

This month for 30 Years Ago in Disneyland Doug talks about One Man’s Dream, a show that followed Videopolis at the Fantasyland Theatre. This was an incredible show with an incredibly short run.

Finally, in honor of Star Wars Day (May the 4th), the geeks talk about Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and the news that Taika Waititi will be directing and co-writing a Star Wars film!

We hope you enjoy this week’s episode of GEEKS CORNER! Let’s go to the corner!
