Earlier this month when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened Disney’s Hollywood Studios used a virtual queue for guests wishing to ride the new attraction. With it, guests can utilize the My Disney Experience app to get a boarding group for the attraction. With the opening of the attraction at the Disneyland Resort less than a month away, it is now known that a virtual queue will be utilized on the west coast as well.
The virtual queue at the Walt Disney World Resort has been updated since the attraction first opened. Initially, guests were getting into boarding groups before the park even opened. Now, guests must be inside the park with the park also being open before they can receive a boarding group. Disneyland officials told the Orange County Register that the Disneyland version of the virtual queue could be different than the one being utilized in Florida. It also will be quite possible that the process will be updated as officials have the chance to evaluate its effectiveness in an effort to make it work better.
Disneyland visitors will utilize the Disneyland app to receive their boarding group when they arrive at Disneyland. Push notifications will be sent to the app once the guest’s boarding group has been called. It is hoped that this system will allow guests to enjoy the parks while waiting for their turn to ride the attraction, rather than waiting in line.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance gives guests the chance to join the Resistance and find themselves in the midst of a battle with the First Order. This attraction is being hailed as a once in a generation attraction. It takes the immersive attraction experience to a whole new level. The attraction will be opening at the Disneyland Resort on January 17, 2020.
