A new security screening and bus loading area opened this past weekend at the Disneyland Resort. It’s located in the Toy Story Parking Lot. This area was announced in March 2019, and construction has been taking place the last few months. The former Katella Cast Member Parking Lot will become the Bullseye Parking Lot.
The new security and bus area features something the Toy Story Lot hadn’t had before – restrooms. This will definitely help those guests who look for restrooms once arriving at Toy Story. However, it was unclear if the restrooms were open this weekend.
It seems the security screening area was only in use during peak arrival times this past weekend. On Sunday, bags were checked and guests went through metal detectors before boarding buses. Once Parkside, guests arriving from the Toy Story Parking Lot were able to quickly access the Esplanade, and head to ticket booths, the Parks, or Downtown Disney.
Guests were also picked up in the new bus loading area. While it may not seem like a central location, there were at least four loading areas. This helped to keep wait times for the shuttles low.
The new security screening area was not in use later in the day, but the bus loading area was in use. Guests arriving later in the day had to go through security once they arrived in the East Esplanade off of Harbor Boulevard.
At the end day, guests were picked up at the Toy Story Shuttle area in the East Esplanade. They were then dropped off in the new loading area once at the Toy Story Parking Lot.
This new area is still going through some adjustments, so your experience arriving at the Toy Story Parking Lot over the next few days or weeks may vary.
