Disneyland Celebrate’s Mickey Mouse’s Birthday

On November 18, 2019 Mickey Mouse celebrated his birthday at the happiest place on Earth! The Disneyland Resort celebrated with buttons and a special cavalcade along the parade route. The cavalcade included the Disneyland Band, Mickey and Minnie (who also was celebrating her birthday) on the firetruck, and many of their Disney friends. The cavalcade had multiple stops along the parade route so that Happy Birthday could be sung to Mickey Mouse. DAPS MAGIC was on hand for the first singing of Happy Birthday.

Between the stops, the band performed songs that had been a part of Mickey’s Band-tastic Cavalcade.  The entire event was festive, fun, and a lovely celebration of Mickey’s 91st birthday.

Mickey Mouse debuted to the public on November 18, 1928 in Steamboat Willie along with Minnie Mouse as well. Walt Disney voiced Mickey Mouse. The short was the third to feature Mickey Mouse, however, it was the first to be released publicly as the others were only shown to test audiences and did not have a distributor. Mickey Mouse would go on to become an international star and the mascot for The Walt Disney Company. Walt once said, “it was all started by a mouse.” Today that mouse’s legacy, and Walt Disney’s, continues around the world.

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse (and Minnie too)!
