Verizon Announces Free Year of Disney+ For Customers

On Tuesday Verizon announced that it would be offering a year of Disney+ for free for its customers. This will include new and existing Verizon wireless unlimited customers, new Fios home internet and 5G home internet customers. For customers who have already purchased Disney+, the purchase will be put on hold until the Verizon promotion ends.

With this new offer, Disney+ will find itself with millions of new subscribers. This will benefit the streaming service as it strives to catch up with the longer established streaming companies like Netflix and Amazon. This is a market that is growing rapidly with Apple TV+ joining CBS All Access, HBO Max, and several other newer streaming services.

Netflix stocks slumped on the Verizon announcement on Tuesday.

Disney+ will become available on November 12 and stream many titles from across The Walt Disney Company’s different properties. It will be available on multiple platforms as well, making it easy to access. For those who are not Verizon customers, Disney+ will be $6.99 a month. Verizon customers can sign up for their free year of Disney+ on the Verizon Disney+ page.
