Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is open and letting guests experience a galaxy far, far away as they fly the Millennium Falcon, visit the cantina, build a lightsaber, join the Resistance, aid the First Order, and so much more. One big question that has remained though is when guests would be able to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Today, that question was answered for both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The attraction will first open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. This will happen on December 5th, Walt Disney’s birthday. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open a bit later for Disneyland. After opening the Walt Disney World version of the ride, Imagineers will make their way back to California to finish preparing the Disneyland version. Disneyland’s Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open on Friday, January 17, 2020.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will “put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren”.
