The Walt Disney Family Museum is anything but a typical museum. Not only is it full of rich, Disney history, but it’s so interactive that you feel part of the creative process and history. It’s a fantastic place for the whole family to visit if you’re visiting San Francisco! Each year, they transform the Diane Disney Miller Hall to a special exhibit that lasts for about 8 months. Previous exhibits include: Magic, Color, Flair: The Art of Mary Blair and Walt Disney’s Nine Old Men: Masters of Animation. On May 16th, Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World, opened to the public.
I had the privilege of being hosted by the museum on Saturday to see this new exhibit and share a look with our DAPS MAGIC readers! I also went through the museum to share some of that magic with you as well!
Mickey Mouse: From Walt to the World celebrates 90 years of our most favorite mouse! While it starts with his early years of black and white films, it progresses up to present day Mickey Mouse. Each section was meticulously curated with concept art, original pieces, and history of Mickey in that time period.
The highlighted sections are:
-Films: Black and White
-Films: Color
-Mickey on Television
-The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
-Drawing Mickey
-Mickey International and Merchandise
-Mickey’s Voices
-Mickey’s Animators
-Mickey in Comics
-Mickey at the Disney Parks
-Mickey in Fine Art
-The Return of Mickey
-Mickey Now
Please enjoy some photos from this incredible exhibit, open now until January 6th, 2020.
We also walked around the museum and I want to share a few highlights from the permanent exhibits.
