Disney Studios Reportedly Looking to Set Sail with Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise Again with Deadpool Writers Onboard

Disney is reportedly looking to reboot the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. According to Deadline, the Walt Disney Studios are in discussions with Deadpool scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick about a potential Pirates reboot. The talks are in the early stages and nothing is confirmed at this point.

While there isn’t a lot known about this potential film, there are a few things. First off, Jerry Bruckheimer will continue to produce Pirates of the Caribbean. It isn’t known if Johnny Depp will be returning though.

Over the last 14 years, the Pirates franchise has grossed over $4.5 billion. However, the performance of the last film left much to be desired. It makes sense that Disney would want to reinvigorate the popular franchise.

What do you think of the possibility of the Pirates of the Caribbean reboot? What would you like to see happen with it? Who would you like to see (or not see) in the next film? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
