Cast of Disney’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Gather in Hollywood for Press Conference

Today, the cast and crew of Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time came together in Hollywood to participate in a press conference. Director Ava DuVernay led the discussion and was joined by Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Zach Galifianakis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Storm Reid, Levi Miller, Deric McCabe, Rowan Blanchard and screenwriter Jennifer Lee.

A Wrinkle in Time was originally a book published in January of 1962 and was and continues to be groundbreaking. The story revolves a young girl who must travel through dimensions and use her bravery to save her father from the evil forces in the universe. The cast reflected on the nature of this film and how it stands out in a world of science fiction. Mindy Kaling (Mrs. Who) noted that it was always a genre that she enjoyed consuming but never saw a place for her to fit into it. Director Ava DuVernay has also been an advocate for the diversity this film promotes and even kicked off a filmmaking competition to help inspire another generation of young artists.

Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time will hit theaters on March 9, 2018.
